In the Studio
These images were photographed at my studio on Martha's Vineyard in late summer.
Rolls of paper, thin metal, plastics and hand chiseled wooden sticks I have accumulated for possible use.
Studio view shows some of the art book library I keep for references. The amphora stencils hanging in the window are from a solo show on Paros Island in Greece.
Threads and string for stitching paper and wool felt. Much preferred to glue and a pleasure to feel and behold.
Handmade paper with embedded bamboo and string waiting to be used as building materials.
Tin molds showing through a thin skin of handmade paper.
Work in progress. Detail of stitched wire mesh pyramids dipped in paper pulp.
Paper goods, wood handle and ribbon for collage work. Peasant girls are vintage flea market finds.
Negative images left on newsprint after spray painting metal parts. Saved for
future use and inspiration.
Small bundles and sheets of recycled papers savored for their own sake
and possibly of future use.
